CoastCap has been launched by Moritz Thiele – founder and former CEO of finanzcheck.de. Moritz is our sole limited partner and has more than 15 years of experience scaling internet companies on the fast track.

Our Team
After raising over €40 million for his venture Finanzcheck.de, Moritz Thiele achieved one of the largest European FinTech exits by selling the company to strategic buyer Scout24 SE (MDAX, G24) for €285 million in an all-cash deal. After leaving Finanzcheck.de in 2021, he founded CoastCap, his family office focused on private capital markets investments.
At CoastCap, Moritz leverages his experience as a successful founder to support portfolio companies with scaling, fundraising and team-building advice, helping them navigate the challenges he once faced.
As a dual-qualified attorney admitted to practice in both Austria and New York, Clemens brings over a decade of expertise in advising top-tier private equity and venture capital firms, as well as financial institutions, on cross-border M&A, finance transactions and securities offerings. Notably, Clemens played a key role in advising UBS on the sale of its Austrian wealth management business to LGT.
At CoastCap, Clemens leads the origination, execution and management of early- and growth-stage investments, as well as spearheading investment strategy. Clemens is highly valued by our portfolio companies, serving as an active board member and sparring partner, supporting innovative companies in their growth ambitions.
With over 30 years of experience in finance and the technology industry, Christian is a true entrepreneur in fintech and mobile services. He served as CFO at Finanzcheck.de, where he supported the company’s growth and successful sales. Christian also understands the struggles and successes founders face, having co-founded MindMatics AG/mopay AG and eventually exited and listed his shares on the London Stock Exchange.
At CoastCap, Christian oversees asset allocation and is keen to advise portfolio companies on strategic decisions in liquidity management, finance, accounting and administration.
Starting in wealth management after completing his international business administration studies in Vienna and Atlanta, Luka structured investment solutions for HNWIs. He then experienced the all-hands-on-deck mentality of a startup, preparing the fundraising round as financial manager. While pursuing his graduate degree in Vienna and Singapore, he gained invaluable M&A experience at one of Austria’s leading private banks.
At CoastCap, Luka is responsible for portfolio management, business development and leading the firm’s due diligence processes.
